Day App

Principles

The rules we build Day App by

These aren't marketing promises. They're rules in the code, and the app's tests check them.

A day that endsToday is a list you can finish, not a feed. Reading comes only after your own cards, from sources you chose, and it stops when they've nothing more for today.
No engagement notificationsDay App only notifies you about reminders you or your assistant set for a time you chose, and prompts you turned on. Never "you haven't opened the app today".
Nothing repeats without youAssistants can suggest routines and repeats. They stay off until you turn them on in the app.
No made-up live informationLive information, short reads and recommendations must name their sources and when those were checked. Information past its time is marked out of date.
Prices you can trustListings come from eBay's official data with the time each price was seen. Amazon appears as a labelled search. Prices an assistant typed itself are labelled as not checked.
Every card has an authorEach card says who added it and why, and the activity record shows every change.
No ads from other companiesThe only promotions are for Vaitly's own products: at most one per ten reading items, labelled, skippable and never a pop-up. They're never among your cards, and nothing about you is used to choose them.
Only safe card contentCards are plain data the app draws itself: no HTML, scripts, web views or downloaded code, whoever wrote them.
Every gesture has a buttonAnything you can swipe, you can also tap, so Day App works with screen readers, large text and one hand.
Your data, your exitExport everything we hold about you from the app, or delete your account and all of it straight away. We keep no backups of your data.
