Day App

Today

A day you can finish

Today is the first thing you see. It shows the day's cards one at a time, in the order you'll need them, with a count of what's done and what's left. It ends instead of scrolling forever.

Sorted by time, not by an algorithm

  • Overdue first. Anything past its time goes to the top with Done, Snooze, Reschedule and Dismiss, so nothing slips away quietly.
  • Then what's due soon, then timed cards in the order they're due.
  • Then the rest in the order they were added. The order updates itself as the day goes on.

There's no small limit on how many cards a day can hold. Use the filter to see everything, or only what's for now, next or later. "Relax" skips straight to your reading.

Each kind of card has its own layout

A recipe shows prep and cook times, servings, ingredients and a food-safety note. A reminder shows its time. A checklist ticks off in place. A short read fades out with a Read more button, and cards with a shop or web page get a Visit now button beside it.

Card types: tasks, reminders, notes, checklists, recipes, things to watch, live information, short reads, shopping lists and products to buy.

Done, moved, or followed up on another day

Every card has the same four buttons: Dismiss, Move, More and Done. Swipes work too, and every swipe has a button. If something didn't happen today ("no pears at the shop"), follow it up on another day with a note, and it's waiting for you then.

At the end of the day you can close out: carry unfinished cards forward or let them go. Nothing is removed without you choosing it.

Live information that admits when it's old

Scores, fixtures and other live details show the source they came from and when they were checked. Once they pass their "valid until" time, the card says the information is out of date instead of pretending it's current.
